Avanzando en Geografía...// Improving the Geography...

Nos encanta la Geografía, ¡así que a trabajar!,

Sacamos nuestro mapa puzzle y la plantilla correspondiente. // We love Geography so get on with it!

We set our puzzle map and its own stencil.

Con el mapa de África // Puzzle map of Africa

 Oceanía // Oceania

 América del Sur // South America

 Asia // Asia

Además de los mapas también utilizamos estas tarjetas con las formas de la Tierra para emparejar los accidentes geográficos. Buscamos dónde están situados los accidentes geográficos más significativos, como el Golfo de México, la Península de Arabia, los Grandes Lagos.....//  We work with these landform cards on top of the puzzle maps. We search where are the most significant geographical features like the Gulf of Mexico, Arabian Peninsula, Great Lakes....

 Y aquí seguimos trabajando los accidentes geográficos, utilizando el gabinete de las formas de la tierra y las tarjetas de las formas de la Tierra de lija// we continue working with  the landform cabinet and the the sandpaper geographical feature cards.

 Este es de los trabajos favoritos de Sofía... // This is one of the Sofia's hit.

 En el mapa de Europa situamos los países... // We set the country labels on the Europa's puzzle map.

 Estas tarjetas están en castellano, ya que en las plantillas vienen en inglés. // These cards are in Spanish, because on the stencil the country names are written in English.

Y pasamos a registrar los nombres de los países en inglés y castellano. // So we write down the country names in English and Spanish.

Mapa Puzzle // Puzzle map

Después de haber trabajado sobre los hemisferios, Paula los dibujó, coloreó y nombró// After studying the hemispheres, Paula drew, coloured and named them.

Aquí escribiendo el  nombre de cada continente. // Here writing down the continent names.

Completando con el nombre de los océanos.// Concluding the map with the ocean names.

Con este otro ejercicio se trata de identificar cada continente del primer mapa puzzle  con su correspondiente mapa por continente. // In the following exercise she has to identify the continent from the first puzzle map with every continent map.

Aquí colocando cada continente con su correspondiente mapa // Here clasifying every continent with its map.

Ejercicio completado // She completed the exercise.

Constelaciones// Constellations

Después de trabajar  la primera gran lección, Paula ha estado muy interesada en el Universo. // After studying The First Great Lesson, Paula has been so interested in the Universe.

Encontré estas tarjetas de constelaciones aquí. Y nos pusimos a trabajar en ellas.// I found these Constellation cards here, so we worked on them.

La primera que eligió fue la suya.. Capricornio. También vimos Orion, Casiopea, Canis Mayor...// The first one was her own constellation, Capricorn. So then we saw Orion, Cassiopea, Canis Mayor...

Y nada mejor que sentarse a mirar las estrellas en las noches de verano.// Nothing better than to observe the sky during summer nights.

 Y para verlas con más claridad, decidió unirlas con estos palitos // To have a better Knowledge, she decided to join them with these sticks.

Luego la representó en papel. // Then she wrote it down

Seguimos de vacaciones. // We are still on holidays

Aprendiendo sobre los Hemisferios // Learning about the Hemispheres.

Este es otro ejercicio parecido al de esta entrada anterior, pero en esta ocasión utilizamos pasta de modelar para representar los hemisferios. Y dibujamos en ellos los continentes// This is a similar exercise as you can see in this previous post, but this time we use modelling clay to represent the hemispheres. We drew the continents in it.

En cartulina dibujamos y recortamos los hemisferios. // Using cardboard we draw and cut the hemispheres out.

Luego con nuestra representación en cartulina de los hemisferios y continentes, los situamos en el mapa y los emparejamos. // Then using the hemispheres and continents of cardboard we set and  match them up.

Así el ejercicio también se convierte en un ejercicio de lenguaje...// So now the exercise becomes a  language exercise too...

Y volvemos a emparejarlos sobre la cartulina con los continentes del puzzle. // We continuous matching up on the cardboard with the continent puzzles.

Estuvimos hablando de lo que representa un hemisferio, el hemisferio este y el hemisferio oeste... y comprobamos con el globo de la Tierra, por qué en algunos continentes es de día mientras que en otros es de noche. // We talked about what a hemisphere means, about east and west, and we checked with the globe why is night time in some continents meanwhile is daytime in some others.

Paula dibujó los hemisferios en papel continuo y a continuación trazó los continentes en ellos. // Paula drew the hemispheres and then the continents.

Y aquí coloreándolos // Here coloring them.

Accidentes Geográficos // Geographical Features

Empezamos a trabajar los accidentes geográficos, y comenzamos por la isla y el lago. Modelamos con arcilla una isla y un lago y los llenamos con agua. No me dio tiempo a sacarle una foto al lago, jajaja. // We started to study the Geographical Features, beginning with the island and lake. We shaped the clay to make an island and we filled with water. I had no time to make a picture to the lake, hahaha!.

Luego pasamos a las bandejas en 3D, cada bandeja tiene su contrario, isla-lago, archipiélago-sistema lacustre, golfo-bahía, istmo-estrecho.// Then we worked with the 3D Trays. Every tray has its opposite, island-lake, archipelago- lake system, gulf-bay, isthmus-strait.

 Y rellenamos con agua. Para ello utilizó jarra y también pipeta.// And we filled with water, using a pitcher and a pipette.

 Y decidió darle más emoción al ejercicio. Utilizó los animales del océano.// She wanted to liven up the exercise, so she used the Ocean Animals.

 Y los dispuso en el agua y en la tierra... // So she placed them in the water and on land.

 Luego pasó a los animales del ártico.// Then continued with the Artic Animals

 Éste es el mueble donde están guardadas las bandejas 3D // This is the Cabinet where the 3D trays are stored.

Y aquí las bandejas del lago-isla, y sistema lacustre-archipiélago // and here are the trays lake- island and the lake system- archipelago.

Los dibujó y escribió sus nombres // She drew them and wrote their names down.

Y probó con los animales de América del norte // So she tried with the North America animals.

Primer mapa puzzle de los hemisferios // The first hemisphere puzzle map

Sofía está trabajando el primer mapa puzzle de los hemisferios // Sofía is working with the first hemisphere puzzle map.

Los hemisferios y los continentes están recortados en cartulina // The hemispheres and continents are made of cardboard.

Estuvo emparejando los continentes del hemisferio oeste, supongo que por eso dejó la otra mitad del mapa fuera de la alfombra, jajaja. // She matched up the continents from the western hemisphere, that's why she left the other hemisphere outside the carpet, hahaha.

Luego colocó las tarjetas con los nombres de los continentes que están codificadas por colores. // Then she set the coded color cards with its continent.

 Aquí colocamos también el nombre de los océanos. Tengo pendiente este mapa.:) // We set the ocean's names. I would like to buy this map. :)
