Vertebrados e Invertebrados // Vertebrates and Invertebrates

Por fin he podido presentar el apartado de Zoología de vertebrados/invertebrados, y es que quería presentarla con una vértebra real. Me ha costado la misma vida encontrarla, jajaja. Pero aquí está. Y es que en las carnicerías no las venden... no me veo a mí misma entrando en un matadero en busca de una vértebra...por internet se puede encontrar reproducciones de plástico, pero vivimos rodeados de plástico y quería algo real, así que lo único que me quedaba era patear monte en busca de algún animal que ya hubiese muerto.

En mi búsqueda encontré el cráneo de una marta...y finalmente una vértebra probablemente de vaca. Es enorme. // Finally I found a vertebra. I didn't want to see this part of the Zoology album till I have a real vertebra. It was so hard to find it because you can't buy them in a butcher's, and I can't find myself going to a slaughterhouse to get one. You can find plastic vertebra through internet, but we live surrounded by plastic and I wanted something real. So I did a lot of trekking to find a died animal , in my  search I found the cranium of a pine marten, and finally I found an enormous vertebra, probably of a cow.

Hemos hablado de lo que significa ser vertebrado e invertebrado, que funciones tiene y dónde se aloja la médula espinal...el tema ha dado para mucho. // We talked about what vertebrate and invertebrate means. What is the role of the backbone and where the spinal cord is....we talked a lot of about these points.

Hablamos de como van colocadas las vértebras y de los discos intervertebrales.... // We talked about how the vertebras are set in the backbone and what are the discs between the vertebras.

Y después de tocar el mundo real... pasamos a las tarjetas // And after a bit of real world we worked with the cards.

Clasificamos en vertebrados e invertebrados // We classified into vertebrates and invertebrates.

Vimos la columna vertebral del delfín // We saw the dolphin's backbone

Y la columna de la rana // And the frog's backbone

Aquí algo más de las partes de la columna vertebral de la rana // We read something else about frog's backbone.

Y pasamos a plasmar nuestros conocimientos en papel // She wrote down what she learned in a paper.

Gusanos de Seda // Silkworms

Este año, gracias a un amiguito de Paula que le regaló gusanos de seda, hemos tenido la oportunidad de ver todo el ciclo de vida.

Ha sido muy emocionante. Las niñas estaban muy interesadas en cómo comían, cuanto crecían, si habían hecho ya los capullos...etc. // This year we had the opportunity to be the observers of the Life Cycle of the Silkworm thanks to a friend of Paula.

It was so exciting and the girls were all the time asking how they eat, how much they grow, when they make the pupas...etc

Cambiamos los gusanos de seda de caja para que estuviesen más limpios. A Paula no le gustó el tacto y decidió utilizar guantes. // We changed the box. The larva touch gives Paula the willies...so she used gloves.

Aquí vemos el primer capullo. Cuando el gusano está fabricando el capullo, cambia de color y no para de dar vueltas dentro del mismo. // Here is the first pupa. When the larva is making its pupa, it changes its color and it is all the time rolling over inside.

Aquí otro capullo ya terminado de color amarillo.// Here is another finished yellow pupa.

Aquí se aprecia muy bien como el gusano ya ha cambiado de color // Here we can see how the larva has change its color.

Y.....sorpresa, ¡los gusanos salieron de los capullos convertidos en polillas! // And what a surprise, the larvas are now silkworm moths!.

Tenemos el ciclo de vida del gusano de seda en plástico, pero nada mejor que ver todo el proceso de forma natural. // We have the Life Cycle of the Silkworm moth in plastic, but nothing better than the real process.

Se emocionaron con los ciclos de vida y quisieron emparejar también el de la mariposa y el de la mariquita. // They decided to work also with the Butterfly and Ladybird Life Cycle.

Leímos curiosidades del ciclo de vida del gusano de seda en este fantástico libro que se llama "Nacer: Animales Extraordinarios" // We read some interesting tips of the Silkworm in this book called "Nacer: Animales Extraordinarios"

Ciclo de vida de la mariquita // Life Cycle of a Ladybug

Y seguimos trabajabando con los ciclos de vida. Esta vez trabajamos el ciclo de vida de las mariquitas. // Still working the Life Cycles. This time we worked the Life Cycle of a Ladybug.

Estuvimos hablando de lo que significa un Ciclo de vida y luego emparejaron. // We talked about what a Life Cycle is, and then they matched up with the cards.

Éste es otro tipo de tarjetas también para emparejar que les encanta.

Hicimos juegos cambiando el orden del ciclo de vida, y luego los tenían que ordenar. Fue muy divertido. En esta foto podéis ver las figuras puestas en orden. // This is another funny set of cards to matching up. They loved it!

We played changing the life cycle order and then they have to put in order again. It was funny! In this picture you can see the figures laid out.

Estuvimos viendo tipos de ranas de diferentes colores... las ranas con colores más llamativos se encuentran en América del Sur. // We saw some different kind of frogs with its different colors...the frogs with the most flashy colors live in South America.

Estas ranas y tarjetas pertenecen a nuestra caja de América del Sur // These plastic frogs and cards belongs to our South America box.

Suelta de tortugas // Turtle release

Hace unos días estuvimos en la suelta de 7 tortugas boba (Caretta caretta). Son tortugas que han sido recogidas enfermas durante el verano y que han estado en el Cegma, que es el Centro de Gestión del Medio Marino Andaluz. // Some days ago we saw how 7 Caretta caretta turtles were coming back to the sea....These turtles were rescued ill during summertime and they have been in a Shelter from the Andalucia's Council.

Hubo que transportarlas hasta la orilla en estas cajas, para facilitar el reencuentro con el medio marino. // They were transported to the shore, in order to take up again with their own sea-environment.

Fue muy emocionante verlas entrar de nuevo en el agua después de haberse recuperado de sus lesiones. Las habían desparasitado totalmente, y es que estos animales suelen sufrir de infestación de parásitos cirrípedos. // It was so exciting to see how they were coming back to the sea after being recovered from their injuries. These turtles usually suffer worm infections of a parasitic called Cirrípedo, so they needed to be treated from worms.

Y aquí va una de ellas....hacia la libertad //And there she goes....to the freedom

Ciclos de vida real // Real cycle stages of life

Y aquí el proceso real ¡de oruga a polilla!.

Mi hermana nos trajo estas orugas que estaban en una planta de albahaca. Estábamos expectantes por saber cómo serían las mariposas... // Here the real cycle stage of life, from caterpillar to moth! My sister brought these caterpillars that were making their chrysalis in a  basil plant. We were excited trying to guess how the butterflies will be.

Formaron los capullos en las propias hojas // They made their chrysalis on the leaves

Aquí otro capullo... // And another one chrysalis

Y tachánnnnn, la polilla. No era tan bonita como esperában las niñas pero nos ha servido para ver el proceso completo del ciclo de vida de las mariposas- polillas. // And....at last... moths. It was not so beautiful as we had thought at beginning..., but the girls were excited with this cycle of life...

Ciclos de vida de las mariposas // Butterflies cycle stage of life

El año pasado hicimos una visita al Mariposario de Benalmadena, podéis ver lo que vimos en  esta entrada anterior. Fue una visita espectacular. Aprendimos mucho, e incluso vimos nacer varias mariposas. // Last year we visited the Butterfly park of Benalmadena, you can see it  in this post. It was a wonderful visit. We learnt a lot. We also saw how some butterflies were born.

Para continuar aprendiendo sobre los estados de vida del ciclo de las mariposas leímos este libro "Había una vez una oruga". Muy divertido. // To continuous learning about the butterfly life cycle stages, we read this book, "Once upon a time a caterpillar". So funny.







Ampliamos nuestro material trabajando con estas tarjetas y con las figuras en plástico del ciclo de vida de las mariposas. //  We broaden the presentation by adding these cards and the plastic figures of the butterflies life cycle stages.

Compré las figuras en amazon. Se pueden encontrar cosas muy chulas. El problema son los gastos de

envío. Y es que no sabes lo que vas a pagar hasta casi no haber finalizado el pedido...// I bought these plastic figures in amazon, you can find cool things, the problem is the shipping... because you can't see how much are you going to spend in shipping almost  you have finished the order...
